Philip Ruppert Obituary

Philip D. Ruppert, 75, of Andrews, IN, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 3:00 a.m. at his home in Andrews. Mr. Ruppert was born in Huntington, IN on September 6, 1942, to Paul and Irene (Miller) Ruppert. He married Sharon Cook on November 30, 1963.

Phil graduated from Andrews High School in 1960. Phil worked at G. E./Lockheed Martin beginning in 1964 and retired in 1999 He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntington, Andrews Lions Club, and G. E. Quarter Century Club. Phil enjoyed watching sports but especially liked watching the Purdue Boilermakers. Phil enjoyed serving for the Lions Club and enjoyed helping people whenever he could.

Phil is survived by his wife Sharon; two daughters, Amelia Jo “A. J.” (John) Broxon, Huntington, IN, Melinda Scott, Fort Wayne, IN; two brothers, David (Carolyn) Ruppert, Ronald(Janet) Ruppert, both of Huntington, IN; a sister, Mrs. Shirley Palmer, Columbia City, IN; two grandchildren, Christy Broxon and Andrea Broxon.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Yetive Ruppert and Meredith Ruppert.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 3:00p.m.to 7:00p.m.at St. Mary gymnasium, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.

Recitation of the Rosary will start the calling hours at 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary gymnasium.

Additional calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, prior to Mass from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Father David Ruppert and Father Stephen Colchin presiding.

A private burial will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Andrews, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to any of the following: Andrews Lions Club, St. Mary Catholic Church, or Huntington County Historical Museum in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
