Melody "Sandi" (Pond) Joyce

Melody “Sandi” Joyce, 81, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Sandi was born on February 9, 1938, in Wilmington, OH, to William and Josephine (Heard) Pond.  Her parents preceded her in death.   She married Ray Joyce on March 2, 1957.   He preceded her in death on September 25, 2015.

Mrs. Joyce graduated from Wilmington Senior High School in Ohio. Sandi worked with her husband for many years who was a certified orthotist.  She had also worked at West Texas Rehab Center and was the administrator to the Speech and Language Department.  Sandi was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN.

Sandi is survived by one son, Mark Michael (Bonnie) Joyce, Muskegon, MI; 6 daughters, Beth (Paul) Fulton, Huntington, IN, Angela Joyce, New Braunfels, TX, Eva (Wayne) Spano, Wallingford, CT, Susan (Bill) Myers, Villa Rica, GA, Mary (Warren) Billett, Grand Haven, MI, and Becky Joyce, Austin, TX.   She is also survived by one sister, Pat (Robert) Ledford, VA; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Denny Pond.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN  46750.

Recitation of the Rosary will begin at the start of the calling hours at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Additional calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Steinacker presiding.

A Burial will be at Marion National Cemetery, Marion IN, at a later date.
