Mary H. (Rakoczy) Shoemaker

Mary H. Shoemaker, 64, of Markle, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, passed away on Novemberber 9, 2019, at Markle Health and Rehab Center in Markle, IN.

 Mrs. Shoemaker was born on March 19, 1955, to John and Lois (Kiser) Rakoczy in Huntington, IN.  Her parents preceded her in death. She married Joe Shoemaker on July 7, 2000.  He preceded her in death on February, 28, 2006.

 Mrs. Shoemaker graduated from Huntington North High School in 1973.  She was an assembler at Majestic. Mary was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 85.

 Mary is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Allen Jackson, Fort Wayne, IN, Daniel (Stacy) Jackson, Huntington, IN, and Andrew Scott Brown, Huntington, IN; two step-sons, Joey Shoemaker, Huntington, IN and Jeremy (Deanna) Shoemaker, Huntington, IN;  two step-daughters, Tina Grose, Huntington, IN and April Bird, Louisiana; four brothers, David Rakoczy, Arkansas, Mark (Patt) Rakoczy, Ohio, John (Kathleen) Rakoczy, Huntington, IN and Joe (Marla) Rakoczy, Huntington, IN, and one sister, Anna Keyser, Huntington, IN.  Also surviving are 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

 Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband and one brother Lynn Rakoczy.

 Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at McElhaney – Hart Funeral Home, 715 North Jefferson St., Huntington, IN, 46750.

 Funeral Services will follow calling at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Matthew Rakoczy officiating.

 Burial will follow service at Lancaster Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
