Kitty Y. (Garrison) Prouty

Kitty Y. Prouty, 64, of Huntington, IN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 14, 2019, at Parkview Regional Center, Fort Wayne, IN, surrounded by her family.

Kitty was born on October 10, 1955, in Allen County, to Junior and Helen (Creech) McGinnis Garrison.  Her mother survives in Roanoke, IN.  Her father preceded her in death.     Kitty’s stepfather, Mac McGinnis also preceded her in death.

Kitty was a 1974 graduate of Huntington North High School.  She had recently worked at Onward Manufacturing in Huntington.  Kitty was very proud of her kids and grandkids and loved them all dearly. 

Kitty is survived by the love of her life for over 35 years, Doug McMahan, Huntington; two daughters, Nicole (Gabriele) Nichols, Lakeland, FL, Desiree (Josh) Norman, Wilkes-Barre, PA; two sons, Shane (Teresa) Prouty, Huntington, Randy Prouty, Lima, OH; one brother, Bob Garrison, Andrews, IN; one sister, Cindy Phillips, Huntington, IN; grandchildren, Katie, Cassie, Allie, Memphis, Mercy and Star Lilly.

Along with her father and step-father she was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Simpkins; and one half-brother, Bill Garrison.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

A Memorial service will be held on Thursday following the calling at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Raymond Scribner officiating.

A private burial will be at a later date.
