Karen "Susie" Sue (Waikel) Wilson

Karen Sue “Susie” Wilson, 72, of Newaygo, MI, and formerly of Huntington, IN, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019, in Fremont, MI.                   

Susie was born September 18, 1947, in Huntington, IN, to Jack and Betty (Adams) Waikel.  Her parents preceded her in death.

Susie was a 1965 graduate of Huntington High School.  She worked as a Laborer at Lock Steel Chain, BF Goodrich, Wabash Technologies and Majestic.   She was a member of the First Brethren Church, Huntington, IN.  She enjoyed playing Bingo and bird watching.

Susie is survived by one son, Chad (Dawn) Wilson, Huntington, IN; one daughter, Christina (Dale) Pelton, Newaygo, MI; 4 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one grandchild, Cayci Rayne Wilson; two brothers, Brian Waikel and Harold Waikel.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

A Funeral service will be held after the calling on Friday, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Diane Teusch officiating.

Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Marion, IN.
