Joseph Harrison Obituary

Joseph E. Harrison, 91, of Huntington, IN passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Heritage Pointe of Huntington, Huntington, IN.

Mr. Harrison was born on October 19, 1928, to Harry William and Frances (Wahrer) Harrison in Huntington, IN.    His parents preceded him in death. He married Glenna J. Fahrnow on May 28, 1954, and she preceded him in death on August 30, 2008.

Mr. Harrison was a 1945 graduate of Huntington High School.  He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a United States Marine during the Korean War.  He retired as a Printer after 38 years at Our Sunday Visitor and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntington.

Mr. Harrison is survived by three daughters, Paula (David) Funk, Christine (Dan) Shoemaker, Laura J. Hughes, all of Huntington, IN; 10 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one daughter, Ann M. Cirullo; three brothers, Philip Harrison, Clarence Harrison, Edward Harrison; and two sisters, Rose Falck and Charlotte Latendresse.

Calling hours will be held prior to Mass on Thursday, January 16, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main Street, Roanoke, IN 46783.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main St. Roanoke, IN  46783 with Father Dale Bauman presiding.

Burial with Military Rites by the VFW #2689 will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Visiting Nurse & Hospice in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
