Jean E. (Mauger) Messler

Jean E. Messler, 94, of Fort Wayne, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019, at Coventry Meadows in Fort Wayne.

 Jean was born on December 12, 1924, in Huntington to Henry and Minnie Mauger  Her parents preceded her in death.  Jean married Loyal Edward “Buss” Messler in February, 1943.  He preceded her in death on October 18, 2004.  

Jean was a 1943 graduate of Huntington Township School.  She worked in personnel and sales at Essex in Fort Wayne, IN, for over 15 years.   She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Huntington, IN.  Jean enjoyed golfing and fishing and recently enjoyed coloring.

Jean is survived by one son, Terry Messler, Fort Wayne, IN; two grandchildren, Marla Bussard, Nathan (Kristin) Messler; and five great grandchildren, Kamryn, Brittany, Kailyn, Dani and Riley.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Mauger and Frederick W. Mauger.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Memorial service will be held following the calling on Friday, May 31, 2019, at 5:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Rev. Steven McPeek officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
