Jacqueline A. (Fox) Karst

Jacqueline A. Karst, 81, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice, Fort Wayne, IN.

Mrs. Karst was born on October 14, 1937, in Fort Wayne, IN, to John H. and Alberta M. (Casey) Fox. Her parents preceded her in death.  Jackie married J. Philip Karst on January 17, 1959, in Columbia City, IN.  Her husband survives and resides in Huntington.

Jackie was a 1955 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne.  Jackie then graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1958.  Jackie then worked at Huntington Memorial Hospital, Warren Methodist Home, and for Home Healthcare.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Rosary Sodality and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society.      

Along with her husband of 60 years, she is survived by four sons, Michael (Belinda) Karst, Germantown, TN, Pat (Sara) Karst, Steve Karst, both of Huntington, IN, Doug (Sharon) Karst, Franklin, IN; two sisters, Rita (Norwin) Stoppenhagen, Fort Wayne, IN, Mary C. (Wayne Bennett) Fox, Tampa, FL; 7 grandchildren, Nathan Karst, Andrew Karst, Casey Karst, Emma Karst, Katie (Adam) Fusselman, Lindsey (Michael) Caley, Megan (Markus) Clancy; and 4 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, James M. Fox and James C. Fox.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held prior to the calling at the funeral home at 2:45 p.m.

Additional calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at St. Mary Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Stephen Colchin and Fr. David Ruppert presiding.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
