Jack "Jackie Jo" Godfroy Obituary

Jack (Jackie Jo) J. Godfroy, 75, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice, Fort Wayne, IN. 

Mr. Godfroy was born on December 7, 1943, in Huntington, IN, to the late Ralph E. “Bud” and Halcyon J. (McClurg) Godfroy.

Mr. Godfroy graduated from Huntington Catholic High School.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Jackie Jo worked at City Beverage and retired in 1999.  Prior to City Beverage he worked for the Huntington City Fire Department.  He was a member of the Miami Indian Tribe of Oklahoma, St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, IN, and a life and 1st Degree member of the Knights of Columbus #1014 Huntington, IN, VFW #2689 and American Legion Post 7. 

Jackie Jo is survived by one daughter, Carrie (Joshua) Salter, Huntington, IN;  three step-sons, Todd Foor, Columbia City, IN, Mike (Cheryl) Foor, Huntington, IN, John (Mary) Foor; Fort Wayne, IN; two step-daughters, Kim (Dave) Working, LaFontaine, IN, Nikki (Ray) Pearson, Huntington, IN; two grandchildren, Taylor Godfroy, Huntington,IN, Nathaniel Godfroy, Kokomo, IN; 11 step grandchildren; one great- grandchild; and 13 step great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy (Gummy) E. Godfroy.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2019, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Thursday, at 7:00 p.m. following the calling hours with Father Stephen Colchin.

Additional calling hours will be held on Friday, June 14, prior to Mass at 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN with Fr. Stephen Colchin officiating.

Burial with Military honors will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.

In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to Huntington Catholic School or Visiting Nurse & Hospice in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
