Douglas Earl Baker, 79, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at Visiting Nurse And Hospice Home, Inc., Fort Wayne, IN. Mr. Baker was born on March 25, 1940, in Huntington, IN, to Chester Earl and Ruth Evelyn (Bowers) Baker. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Baker married Margaret Lucetta McKinley on July 21, 1961, in Huntington. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2010.
Mr. Baker was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Huntington, IN. Mr. Baker served in the Marine Corps Reserve from 1959-1964. Douglas worked maintenance for the Mesa Public Schools in Mesa, AZ for 14 years and had also worked at Schenkel’s Dairy in Huntington. Mr. Baker retired in June, 1998.
Douglas is survived by one son, Matthew (DeLynn Johnston-Baker) Baker, Phoenix, AZ; one sister, Sharon Baker, Huntington, IN; two grandsons, Douglas (Emma Clor) Baker, Franklin, IN, Clayton (Allison) Baker, Huntington, IN.
Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by one brother, James “Jim” Baker and a sister Carolyn Allen Baker.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, Indiana.
A funeral service will follow on Friday, September 20, at 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home with Brother Jon Knecht officiating.

Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion, IN.
