Dorothy M. Davis

Dorothy M. Davis, 96, Huntington, IN, passed away at her residence on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at 9:15 p.m.

  Mrs. Davis was born on September 18, 1921, in Huntington, IN, to Wilbur and Tillie (Mitten) McCrum.  Her parents preceded her in death.  She married John M. “Johnny” Davis on December 25, 1941.  He preceded her in death after 69 years of marriage on August 4, 2011.

Dorothy graduated from Huntington High in 1939.  Dorothy was a homemaker and co-founder of Johnny’s Drive In, which is still open today.  She attended Trinity United Methodist Church, was a member of the Huntington Saddle Club, South Side Business Association, Twin Bridge Squares and Rovin’ Sam’s Camping Club.

Dorothy is survived by three sons, John Gregory Davis, Monte Brian Davis, and James Curtis Davis, all of Huntington, IN; one daughter, Vicki Lynn Keiser, Huntington, IN;  6 grandchildren, John Brent Davis, Michael Todd Davis, Brianna (Ben) Spurgeon, Melissa (Tom) Hammonds, Jonathan (Leslie) Keiser, and Nathaneal (Samantha Krumanaker) Keiser.   She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN.

Additional calling will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018, prior to the funeral service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, with Rev. Raymond Scribner officiating.

Interment will be at Markle Cemetery, Markle, IN.
