Donald G. Karst, 83, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.
Donald was born on July 5, 1936, in Huntington, IN, to Julius and Leatha Sue (Kline) Karst. His parents preceded him in death. He married Deloris Welch on April 30, 1960. She survives and resides in Huntington, IN.
Donald was a 1955 graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. He was a Supervisor at
E-Systems for over 40 years. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, and the Eagles Lodge. He was an avid bowler and bowled on different leagues, loved playing cards and going to the casino. He especially loved to watch his grandchildren at sporting events.
Along with his wife of 59 years, Deloris, he is survived by two sons, David Karst, Terry (Flav) Karst; two daughters, Debra Karst, Sharon Michael, all of Huntington, IN. Also surviving is one sister, Rose (Bill) Arivett, Huntington, IN; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Michael Karst; three brothers; five sisters; and one granddaughter, Danielle Nicole Karst.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Additional calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 10, before the funeral service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Tony Steinacker presiding.
Donald’s wishes were that all memorials go to the Fraternal Order of Eagles in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
Burial will be at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
