Daryl Jay Stroop

Daryl Jay Stroop, 58, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 8:12 p.m. at Hickory Creek at Huntington.

 Mr. Stroop was born on February 20, 1960, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Walter D. and Nancy (Cook) Stroop.  His parents preceded him in death.

Mr. Stroop had worked at the Huntington Recycling Center, Huntington, IN. He was most recently a resident at Hickory Creek Nursing Home where he was loved by the staff.  . Daryl loved music, dancing, impersonating Soupy Sales and any time family would come to visit. Daryl's family is thankful for the great care he received from Pathfinders and Hickory Creek over the years.

Mr. Stroop is survived by one sister, Debbie Pollins, and her two kids Ben and Amelia, of Cape Coral, FL; and one brother, David ( wife Teresa) Stroop, and their two kids Chris and Holly of McCordsville, IN. Mr. Stroop’s brother Dean preceded him in death, but he is survived by Dean’s wife Alison and their two daughters Maggie and Abby.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018, at 12:15 p.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 1700 W. Park Dr., Huntington, IN with Daryl’s brother David Stroop officiating.
